Antonee Robinson is set to make a major U-turn and sign a new long-term contract at Fulham.

It was reported only a few weeks ago that the USA international was set to be made available for transfer after refusing to commit his future to the Cottagers.

However, according to The Athletic, Robinson is close to extending his stay at Craven Cottage, three years after first joining from Wigan Athletic.

Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is keen on signing a left-back this summer.

Dan Burn, a recognised central defender, played most of last season there, while injuries to Matt Targett during the first part of the season restricted the former Aston Villa man to just six Premier League starts.

Although Burn performed admirably by helping United record the joint-best defensive record in the league on their way to securing Champions League qualification, Howe believes the team will benefit from bolstering that area.

Another Fulham player that has been considered by Newcastle is Tosin Adarabioyo.

The former Manchester City defender has turned down the chance to extend his stay in West London after entering the final year of his contract.

Newcastle are weighing up their next transfer move after confirming the £52million arrival of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan. The 23-year-old has been on Tyneside over the last 24 hours visiting St James’ Park for the first time.
