Callum Wilson has named England teammate James Maddison in his dream 5-a-side team.

The Newcastle United striker was challenged by JD Football to name his best Premier League team at random and the no.9 named the Toon target with ease.

Maddison has been linked to Newcastle United since last summer but Leicester City knocked back two bids for the midfielder. It is thought the club are now the frontrunners to nab the 26-year-old after the Foxes’ relegation, alongside Harvey Barnes.

And it seems Wilson’s in favour of the move. Only allowed one player from each team, the 31-year-old selected Martinelli, Nick Pope, Maddison, Willian and Van Dijk.

Reports suggest Tottenham Hotspur are also looking at the pair who, despite relegation, contributed an impressive 33 goal involvements between them.

Eddie Howe has previously spoken of his admiration for Maddison, saying:

“I have full respect for him and his abilities. I have seen him grow from a Football League player to a Premier League player. He’s been brilliant.

“He has been a great advert for the Premier League, but he’s a Leicester City player – and I fully respect that. I’d never talk about another contracted player coming here. But he’s a player I do respect.”
