Newcastle United trio walking Premier League suspension tightrope ahead of Man Utd & Sunderland clashes
A Newcastle United trio face a Premier League suspension threat ahead of a key run of fixtures.
Three Newcastle United players are edging closer to the Premier League's disciplinary threshold ahead of Monday night's meeting with Everton at St James' Park.
Newcastle United have three players at risk of future suspensions as the Magpies prepare to face Everton for the second time in five days.
Matthias Jaissle's side will be looking for an immediate response to Thursday's 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium when they welcome the Toffees to Tyneside on Monday evening.

And while Newcastle have no immediate suspension concerns, Jacob Murphy, Yoane Wissa and Nico Gonzalez are all approaching the Premier League's five-yellow-card threshold.
Newcastle United trio receive yellow-card warning
Murphy, Wissa and Gonzalez have each collected three yellow cards in the Premier League this season, leaving them two bookings away from an automatic one-match suspension.
Gonzalez received his latest caution during Newcastle's 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace last Sunday, despite producing a player-of-the-match performance at Selhurst Park.
Under Premier League regulations, players who receive five yellow cards during their club's opening 19 league matches must serve a one-game ban.
That means all three Newcastle players must avoid collecting another two bookings across the Magpies' next 11 Premier League fixtures to escape the punishment.
Joelinton and Sven Botman are also among those approaching the threshold, having each received two bookings this season.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hall, Fabian Schar, Anthony Elanga, Lukas Hornicek, Tino Livramento, Lewis Miley, William Osula and Jacob Ramsey have each been cautioned once.
While no Newcastle players can be handed yellow card suspensions for the upcoming matches against Everton and Fulham, they are at risk for an important run of matches after the November international break.
The Magpies face Arsenal, Brighton, Manchester United and Sunderland in successive matches after the break. It means the likes of Gonzalez, Wissa and Murphy, in particular, will have to keep their discipline in check in order to avoid being suspended for any of those matches.
What are the Premier League suspension rules?
Premier League rules state that players who accumulate five yellow cards within their club's first 19 league fixtures receive a one-match suspension.
A further disciplinary threshold applies to players who collect 10 bookings during their team's opening 32 matches, resulting in a two-game ban.
Newcastle midfielder Joelinton was handed that punishment last season after reaching double figures for cautions.
Players who accumulate 15 yellow cards over an entire Premier League campaign face a three-match suspension, although no player has yet reached that total in a single season.
Yellow cards collected in domestic cup competitions are counted separately from Premier League cautions, meaning bookings in Thursday's Carabao Cup defeat to Everton do not contribute towards the league suspension threshold.
Jaissle will hope to avoid further disciplinary setbacks when Newcastle face Everton on Monday, November 2, as his side look to secure successive Premier League victories following last weekend's win at Crystal Palace.
