Newcastle United fans will be given a free pint when they arrive at St James' Park tonight, if they choose to partake in a buy one get one free deal the club has put on for the visit of Brighton.

The club has confirmed the BOGOF deal for hot and cold drinks at concourse kiosks across the stadium before kick-off at 7:30 pm this evening. Fans will only have half an hour to make the most of the deal with two separate windows for general admission tickets and premium bars.

The BOGOF deal will run at general admission kiosks between 6 pm and 6:30 pm and at premium bars (1892, Platinum and Leazes) between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.

Supporters are able to use the deal on two drinks of different types and will just be charged for the more expensive of the two.

The news comes after Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi sent a rallying 'call to arms' to supporters attending the match tonight as the Magpies continue their charge for Champions League football next season.

The meeting with Brighton is the side's game in hand on in-form Liverpool who sit in fifth place and are enjoying a rich vein of form.

On Wednesday night, Ghodoussi wrote: "This is a call to arms for all of you attending the game at St James’ Park tomorrow night. We need your voices to be loud and your scarves held high. Roar like lions - you are the 12th man and your team needs you!"

One fan who replied to Ghodoussi was the viral Toon Polls account, who pleaded for a "free bar" to help with the atmosphere.

Following the news of the BOGOF deal, one fan wrote: "The power of @ToonPolls has no limits..."

Others labelled it a "good deal" and praised "proper owners that know what they're doing".
