Who has the biggest points difference compared to last season?

Unsurprisingly, the Toon are top of the list with the biggest positive points difference of 22, having improved on last season’s 11th place by coming fourth this time round. Manchester United, who took third place this year, also enjoyed similar results by improving on sixth place with an additional 17 points.

At the very bottom of the list with the most negative points difference is Chelsea. The Blues seriously struggled this season and produced one of the lowest goal returns in the Premier League. They had to settle for finishing 12th with just 44 points, despite coming third last year with 30 points more.

Liverpool also took quite the hit with points, depsite only finishing three places lower than last season. In 2021/22, the Reds earned 92 points and came second but this time round, they struggled with form at times at finished fifth with 67 points.

Leicester City are also one of the teams with the biggest drops in points. Although they earned a respectable eighth-place finish last season, they could not do enough to stay in the Premier League this time, and have been relegated.

Here is a full breakdown of each team’s points earned this season compared to the previous campaign and who has been impacted the most.
