Newcastle United have been linked with another three attacking options as Eddie Howe looks to beef up his Magpies XI in the final third.

Howe is keen to add at least another back up striker to Callum Wilson, as well as a wide forward, preferably one who can play on the right.

And reports on the continent claim United have been offered the chance to snap up Barcelona forward, and former Manchester United flop, Memphis Depay.

The Netherlands international is understood to be surplus to requirements at Camp Nou and could be available for around £17million.

Meanwhile, the Magpies have also again been linked with a duo previously courted by the club.

Former Rafa Benitez target Adama Traore, of Wolverhampton Wanderers, is said to be on a shortlist of players drawn up by the club’s hierarchy this summer, while former Steve Nickson favourite Nicolas Pepe, of Arsenal, as another being linked with the club.

Howe is hopeful United will have at least further new recruit through the door before Nottingham Forest head to Tyneside for the first game of the Premier League season next month.
