Newcastle United and Everton go head-to-head for the second time in four days at St James’ Park tonight.
The Magpies travelled to Merseyside in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening but suffered a 3-1 defeat. Now Matthias Jaissle’s side will look to gain revenge in the Premier League.
United head into the game sitting 12th in the Premier League table, one point above the Toffees, but will move up to seventh with a victory.
Team news-wise, Newcastle are expected to be without Will Osula after the 23-year-old striker was forced off at half-time during last week’s cup match after rolling his ankle. The young Dane had only just returned from another ankle injury.
Meanwhile, £51 million summer signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley also remain doubtful, having missed the last two games with illness and a glute problem, respectively.
So, how will Newcastle United line up against Everton? Here’s our predicted XI:

2. GK: Lukas Hornicek
Played a big part in the win over Crystal Palace with two important second-half saves but could do little about the defeat to Everton last week. | Getty Images

3. RB: Amar Dedic
Lucky to stay in the team after Thursday’s defensive disasterclass but the reality is, there’s no one else. He’s a good attacking option at least. | Getty Images

4. CB: Fabian Schar
Part of a defence that shipped three last time out, but individually didn’t do much wrong. His ability to carry the ball out from the back does make a difference. | Getty Images
