Newcastle returned to winning ways in the Premier League via Alexander Isak’s 12th-minute goal to end a streak of five matches without victory. It was a result that saw Eddie Howe’s side climb back into the top half of the table having fallen to 12th after last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
United gained revenge on the Blues on Tuesday when they won 2-0 to advance into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. And they were then able to follow that up by beating the Gunners.

But the co-owner’s social media activity didn’t stop there. TV presenter Piers Morgan, a prominent Arsenal fan, let his feelings known about the defeat - and Reuben couldn’t resist.
Morgan wrote: “Arsenal’s League title hopes are minutes from ending. At the start of November. Disaster.” Reuben then replied: “Sorry @piersmorgan - up the mags”.
Despite seeing his team slip seven points behind league leaders Liverpool, Morgan appeared to be gracious in defeat. He said “Your boys played well, congrats mate.”

Asked why opposition teams find it so tough to get results on Tyneside, Howe said: ”It’s difficult to see from the other team’s perspective, I usually just solely focused on ourselves and trying to make sure where we need to be to win these type of games.
“I thought it was a low game on chance creation today, neither team created an abundance of goal opportunities but I think that is down to the quality of the sides and how difficult it was to break defensive lines.
