Alexander Isak followed in the footsteps of the likes of Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer when he became Newcastle United’s record signing on Friday afternoon.
The Sweden international will hope to make his Magpies debut and give his new supporters a glimpse of what they can expect when Eddie Howe’s side face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

Isak could line up alongside the man he replaced as United’s record addition, with the reported £60million deal far exceeding the £40million handed over the Hoffenheim to bring Joelinton to Tyneside in the summer of 2019.
The fee is the third highest paid by a Premier League club so far this summer and is only surpassed by Darwin Nunez’s £67.5million move to Liverpool and Manchester United’s £63.4million deal for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
But how does the fee paid for Newcastle’s most expensive signing compare to the record transfer deals at their Premier League rivals?
