Where Newcastle, Leeds and Watford will finish in Premier League table - according to statistics
Newcastle United’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign is drawing to a close, but the side still have work to do to guarantee avoiding an end of season relegation battle.
Newcastle have had one of the more dramatic seasons in the Premier League compared to their counterparts.
In the early stages of the season, they were bottom of the league, win-less, and cash-strapped.
Now we see the Magpies sitting 15th in the league with Eddie Howe as their manager and as one of the richest clubs, not just in England, but in the world.
When the Saudi-backed consortium bought the Magpies, a massive injection of money was put into the club, before they splashed the cash in the January transfer window.
Kieran Trippier was bought from Atletico Madrid, while Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimarães also made permanent moves to St James’ Park. In total, Newcastle spent just under £86 million on new players and what a difference it has made to the second half of the season.
The Magpies have now drawn more matches than they have lost and are currently well clear of the relegation zone.
Howe will hope to capitalise on what is sure to be another busy transfer window when the summer comes around, before hoping to build Newcastle into a side capable of fulfilling their new owners’ ambitions for the club.
As the season draws to a close, NewcastleWorld, takes a look (via FiveThirtyEight’s ‘Soccer Power Index’) at where the statisticians predict Newcastle and the rest of the Premier League sides will finish in the 2021/22 season.

1. 20th: Norwich (24 points)
Norwich returned to the Premier League season this year but their return has not gone their way with a predicted jump back down to the Championship expected for 2022/23.

2. 19th: Watford (30 points)
It is clear that the three managers Watford have seen this season have disrupted play and have unsettled the Hornets. Despite ex-England manager Roy Hodgson coming into the picture, Watford are also set for a Championship return.

3. 18th: Burnley(33 points)
Burnley are unlikely to make it to a seventh consecutive season in the Premier League and have lost the past four out of five matches, drawing the fifth. The inconsistent and out of form team will likely end up in the Championship for 2022/23

4. 17th: Everton (35 points)
The Toffees are expected to just about avoid relegation, despite a somewhat disastrous season. Everton will hope that the summer will allow Frank Lampard to rebuild this side for a more successful 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
