Yorkshire band Kaiser Chiefs are heading back out on the road in November, and fans in Newcastle will get the chance to see them in the Toon.

Who are Kaiser Chiefs?

Formed in 2000 in Leeds as Parva, the band renamed to Kaiser Chiefs in 2003 having released one album under their old name.

The band consists of lead singer Charles Richard Wilson, guitarist Andrew "Whitey" White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick "Peanut" Baines and since 2013 drummer Vijay Mistry.

The band have released seven studio albums and each was complemented with a live arena tour.

Their debut album ‘Employment’ was released in 2005, and this was followed by Yours Truly, Angry Mob (2007), Off with Their Heads (2008), The Future Is Medieval (2011), Education, Education, Education & War (2014), Stay Together (2016) and Duck (2019)

Their hit songs ‘I Predict a Riot’ and ‘Ruby’ have become classic Indie hits, and many fans will be hoping to hear these in Newcastle later this year.

When do Kaiser Chiefs play in Newcastle?

The band’s date in Newcastle is one of the first of their November tour.

They are due to perform at the O2 City Hall in Newcastle on Monday, 7 November.

This is the fourth show of the tour, with the band having visited Swansea, Cardiff and London beforehand.

The Newcastle show takes place in between performances in London on 5 November and Hull on 8 November.

Who is supporting Kaiser Chiefs?

During the UK tour, Kaiser Chiefs will be supported by two bands, both of which may be familiar to fans of Indie rock music.

Glasgow three piece The Fratellis are pencilled in to perform before Kaiser Chiefs each night of the tour.

The Fratellis will be rolling out tracks from their new album ‘Half Drunk Under a Full Moon’ as well as the Indie cult classic ‘Chelsea Dagger’.

Opening up each night is Yorkshire outfit The Sherlocks who have become one of the most exciting live bands in the UK.

The Sherlocks have sold out their own UK tour and both of their albums have reached the UK top 10, meaning that the night will be a true collection of stand out performances.

When do tickets go on sale?

The pre-sale tickets for Kaiser Chiefs in Newcastle are through O2 priority, meaning that O2 customers can register to skip the queue ahead of general sale.

O2 priority opens at 9am on Wednesday 23 March.

General sale opens at 9am on Friday, 25 March.

All tickets are available through Ticketmaster and tickets will be available for both standing and balcony sections of the venue.
