Seven stunning locations for a spring walk in and around Newcastle
The best time of year for those who like to head out on walks is here. Longer days, more predictable weather and warmer temperatures without the risk of heatwaves result in the best time of the year to plan afternoons out the house.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of options for spring walks to try over the next few months.

5. Pipewellgate
Looking for an after-work stroll to bring the day to a close? Look no further than the south side of the Tyne which offers incredible sunset views across the river. Accessible by the Swing Bridge, a walk can start at By The River Brew Co with anyone looking for a top-up able to grab a drink and snacks at the Staiths Cafe. Photo: Google

6. Walker Riverside Park
Another Tyneside option, this mirrors the walk from Gateshead to Hebburn on other side of the river. The park offers plenty of options for routes as well as a space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Photo: Google

7. Nothumberlandia
Easily accessible from Cramlington, Northumberlandia is a free public space full of paths and views to explore. The country park, woodland trail and landscape sculpture are open seven days a week and offer a great chance to head further up the region. Photo: Google
