The thousands of Little Mix fans who filled the Utilita Arena, known fondly as 'Mixers', sang and shed tears alongside the band over the course of three shows during the Easter weekend.

Speaking to NewcastleWorld on the Saturday night, fans heaped praise on their idols.

One said: "It was unreal.

"We've been to Paris to see them, we've been tonight, we went this afternoon, we went last night and we're going to Manchester as well.

"We're very proud to have them from the North East."

Another said: "It was absolutely phenomenal. Those girls are something else and it was an unbelievable show, the last hometown show, very emotional but it was beautiful at the same time as it was a proper farewell.

"I've made friends for life through the band. They are so special to so many people."

Another said: "I came on a last-minute whim. I didn't have a ticket and thought I might as well come down. I really enjoyed it.

"I think they make really good music and send a really good message to girls and women which I enjoy."

When asked what it is that made Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne so special, another concertgoer responded: "Their friendship.

"It makes us feel emotional. Their empowerment. They see each other through everything and we love that. We've all cried."
