Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan says parenthood is ‘overwhelming’ as she admits to ‘breaking down’ in candid post

Holly Hagan has candidly opened up about being a mother for the first time in a new social media post. The Geordie Shore star, 30, gave birth to her first child with footballer husband Jacob Blyth earlier this month.

Holly took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a cute video of her son Alpha-Jax when he was just one day old. In the post, she admitted that parenthood is overwhelming and claimed she breaks down sometimes. Despite this, the 30-year-old said she wouldn’t change it and loves being a mother.

The reality star told her followers: "1 day old his little newborn scrunch! This was the morning after our first night at home, both in nappies, running off 2 days of no sleep as I had to check he was breathing every second. I broke down as we went to bed for the first time with him as I was just so overwhelmed. A million “what ifs” running through my head. A mix of anxiety and the baby blues which hit me hard for the first few nights. I felt homesick, that’s the only way I can really describe it!"

Holly continued: "Those feelings soon passed and 11 days in now feeling so much less anxiety! Still having the odd breakdown every now and then with the lack of sleep but I honestly wouldn’t change it, I love being his mam so much.I never understood when people said it’s the hardest but best job in the world.. but I get it now."

The reality TV star’s friends were full of support for the new mum and took to the comments to send their best wishes. Fellow Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby commented on the post saying: "Holly words can’t describe how seeing you as a mother makes me feel! Your nailing mama life I couldn’t be more proud of watching you on this journey. I adore Alpha-Jax and I’m bursting to come and see him." Sophie Kasaei wrote: "I’m so proud of you Holly."

The 30-year-old television personality from Middlesbrough was an original cast member on MTV’s Geordie Shore, joining the show at only 18 years old in 2011. Holly has been an on-and-off cast member throughout the years, leaving the show in 2016 before returning in 2018. She then left again in 2019.
