Where do Geordie Shore stars rank on the reality TV rich list?

Reality TV stars can be some of the highest-earners in the celebrity world - thanks to the ever-growing popularity in shows such as Love Island, and the rise of the influencer culture.

A reality TV rich list was created by gaming website Slots Up to determine the most financially successful celebrities to come from reality TV.  Five out of twenty celebrities on the rich list are from the North East (or close enough).

Taking the top spot is Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, as the richest person to come from reality TV. Although Perrie from South Shields is in the music industry, she became known after winning The X Factor in 2011 with Little Mix making her eligible to be included on the list. Although Jesy Nelson made the list, other Little Mix members Leigh-Anne Pinnock and fellow Geordie Jade Thirlwall did not.

Gogglebox star and presenter Scarlett Moffatt who comes from County Durham takes the 15th place. Scarlett’s profile raised considerably after she competed and won the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

Of course, Geordie Shore cast members made the list. However, you may be surprised to find that some are richer than others. It is also worth noting that the ones included on the list are all original cast members, and all women. Charlotte Crosby from Sunderland took the fifth spot, making her richer than all of her cast mates.

Behind her was Vicky Pattison in 10th and Holly Hagan in 19th. The only other Geordie Shore woman who has appeared in the show since series one - Sophie Kasaei - did not make the list.

Reality TV stars are able to make money in many ways, but mostly through TV and advert jobs as well as brand deals. As the reality TV stars take on more jobs, (or release more music in The X Factor case), the net worth of the star can change, therefore giving the rich list a complete re-shuffle!
