Chelsea could be handed a quadruple injury boost for Saturday afternoon's Premier League trip to Newcastle United (kick-off 3pm).

Mauricio Pochettino's side travel to St James' Park looking to build on the 4-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur and the 4-4 draw against Manchester City in the last week before the international break.

Similar to the Magpies, the two-week break seemingly came at a good time for the Blues with the possibility of four players returning this weekend.

Levi Colwill missed the draw with Man City because of a shoulder problem, which forced him to withdraw from the England squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers versus Malta and North Macedonia.

And Malo Gusto also withdrew from international duty with France under-21s because of damage to his knee ligament in the same game.

Both players, however, have been spotted in training, suggesting they'll be involved for the visit to Tyneside.

Two of Chelsea's summer signings Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia, who cost a combined £110million, have been pictured on the grass this week ahead of making their respective debuts.

Elsewhere, Pochettino remains without Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah, who are long-term absentees.

Newcastle currently have the longest absentee list in the Premier League at 13 players, although that is likely to reduce with Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron in line to return versus cHELSEA. .

However, Sandro Tonali (banned), Jacob Murphy (shoulder), Dan Burn (back), Elliot Anderson (back), Sven Botman (knee), Harvey Barnes (toe), Callum Wilson (hamstring), Javier Manquillo (groin), Matt Targett (hamstring) and Lewis Hall (ineligible) are ruled out.
