Joelinton's X-rated response to what Newcastle United teammate did vs Fulham

Newcastle United may be without Joelinton for the rest of the season but the Brazilian has shown he is right behind his teammates in their battle for European qualification.

Joelinton hasn’t featured for the Magpies since the 3-0 win over Sunderland in January after the thigh injury he sustained required surgery. He could return in May but is in a race against time.

The 27-year-old, of course, isn’t the only player to suffer from injury this term. For Saturday’s Premier League trip to Fulham, he was among 11 players to sit out.

And it is Joelinton’s position of midfield that has been severely affected. Newcastle were already without him, Sandro Tonali and Lewis Miley before Joe Willock was forced off versus Fulham because of an ongoing Achillies problem.

It will have no doubt left Joelinton feeling extra frustrated as he watched on from home but come full-time, positivity appeared to be the overriding emotion.

That was because fellow countryman and close pal Bruno Guimaraes netted an 81st minute winner at Craven Cottage, a result that kept Newcastle eighth in the Premier League table, one point and one place behind West Ham United in the final Euro spot.

Amusingly, Joelinton’s reaction to Guimaraes’ strike was expletive. In Portuguese, he wrote on Instagram “ai porra”. We’ll let you do the translation... although we can tell you his next was post was clean, writing “what a team” in response to the post-match dressing room photo.

Joelinton will hope to be back involved soon, and while the focus remains on his recovery, there is the small matter of a new contract to sort out.
