Recent reports have suggested Barcelona and Liverpool are making moves to try and nab the player. According to the Liverpool Echo both clubs have ‘made contact’ with Guimaraes in an attempt to boost their midfield.
However these reports are being ridiculed by Newcastle United fans who are confident about the midfielder’s commitment to the club.
One fan replied to the Echo’s report with a compilation video of Toon players splitting their sides laughing, including a cheeky ‘meow’ from Tyneside’s own Sean Longstaff.
And their confidence is not misplaced.

This goes hand-in-hand with how content the 25-year-old is in the Toon. After securing Champions League qualification, Guimaraes’ wife Ana Lidia Martins Guimaraes shared a video of her and Bruno carrying their son around St James’ Park with the caption: ‘HOME.’
And Bruno said himself: “I feel at home here.
“I’m very happy to be here to be playing and be part of this giant club’s story. For me it’s important and everyone knows how much I like the club, the fans, the support. For me, it’s like having something to remember my country [Brazil].”
The entire Guimaraes family is settled in the Toon, with Bruno’s father Dick Gomez often seen celebrating with fans- becoming a celebrity in his own right.
