Preparations for the Premier League and a return to the Champions League are well underway at Newcastle United as Eddie Howe lands another major coup in the signing of Harvey Barnes.
The winger arrives from Leicester City on a £38 million deal that could be a snip should Howe get the Englishman playing his best football week-in, week-out.

Eddie Howe already working on next transfer after Harvey Barnes
Newcastle United are already 'working on a deal' to confirm a third major summer signing as the announcement of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City edges even closer.
Eddie Howe is in the market for a full-back and the club had previously been linked with a move for Southampton star Tino Livramento. The young defender took the Premier League by storm when making his Saints debut in 2021 but an ACL injury saw the player miss the majority of the last campaign.
Livramento is fit again now and, with proven Premier League quality, is touted to be on his way out of Southampton after the side's relegation. The Magpies had made a move for the player earlier this window and The Express reports that a renewed bid is well underway.

Newcastle United 'logical fit' for Manchester United target
As well as a full-back, Newcastle United are looking to bring in a new centre-back before the start of the Premier League season.
Eddie Howe is confident with first-choice pairing Sven Botman and Fabian Schar but with increased games due to Champions League involvement, is keen to have strength in numbers.
The Magpies have been long-linked with Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi this window, despite no official bid being launched by the club and with Manchester United reportedly in prime position to secure the Frenchman.

The outlet does add that Monaco would demand a hefty fee for the talented 25-year-old with Newcastle United needing to negotiate that down should a move be feasible.
