The second round of the Carabao Cup will see Newcastle United will take on English Football League side, Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday evening.

The Magpies are set to face off against Tranmere Rovers this week, following on from their 3-3 draw against Man City on Sunday.

When is Newcastle set to face off against Tranmere?

Newcastle will travel to Trenton Park to face off against Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday 24 August.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm, and coverage will be shown on Sky Sports.

What is the Carabao Cup?

The Carabao Cup kicks off every August and features clubs from the Premier League and the English Football League in a knock out format across seven rounds.

The Premier League clubs enter the competition on the second stage of games with clubs that qualified for the Champions League or Europa League entering in round three.

The competition ends in a final game at Wembley Stadium. The winner will then qualify for the season’s Europa League.

The Carabao Cup has been known by many names due to the sponsorship changing throughout its history, for example it has previously been known as the Coca-Cola Cup. However, many fans refer to this competition as the League Cup.

How did Tranmere do in their last Carabao Cup game?

They are coming off a penalty shoot out victory against Accrington Stanley.

The teams drew 2-2 but Rovers  went on to secure their place in Round Two of the competition with a 12-11 penalty shootout victory.

How to live stream Tranmere Rovers v Newcastle United Carabao
