‘Banging’ new Bagel shop opens its doors in Newcastle
As NewcastleWorld found out earlier this month, there's a bagel-mania that's come to grip Newcastle over the past 18 months.
Now, there's a new kid on the block as MRKT opens its doors on Pilgrim Street.

Hide AdThe shop is owned by the Malhotra group and has its bagels supplied by the much-loved Dot Bagels.
On the menu are five types of bagel filling, which can be taken away or enjoyed on-site at the adjacent The Market Lane.
That includes a chicken and avocado-loaded Cali Club and a Banging Bhaji.
There's also the Block and Bottle bacon bagel, which recently featured on The Hairy Bikers Go North.

Hide AdAll the bagels feature locally grown lettuce and heritage tomatoes, while the Posh Ploughman’s also contains a selection of cheese, apple, mayo and Branston Pickle.
For vegans, the Banging Bhaji includes vegan raita, red onion rings, vegan onion bhaji, poppadom and mango chutney.
The Ultimate Three Cheese contains mozzarella, mature Cheddar and Red Leicester, sliced tomatoes and Dot Bagels’ signature Dot sauce, while the Market’s Monsieur features double golden Cheddar cheese, crispy pancetta and béchamel sauce.
Fillings come in a choice of two toasted bagels.
MRKT also serve up hot drinks, including twists on classics in a coconut latte and white chocolate latte, as well as cakes and pastries.
Bagel prices start at £6 and MRKT is open from Monday to Saturday between 8 am and 4 pm.
