David Ginola forced to remember ‘worst’ ever match after I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! trial

David Ginola was forced to remember the 'worst' football game he has ever played on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! over the weekend.

The former Newcastle United star is currently toughing it out in the castle and has won over viewers, already a strong favourite to take home the crown.

His charming personality and dashing looks have had viewers and campmates swooning.

Ginola hasn't been afraid to muck in either, impressing with the gruesome trials - although, it's something the 54-year-old is used to having had to adjust to life at the Newcastle training ground in 1995.

On Saturday night's show, Ginola was one of three celebs to take part in the Cells of Hell trial.

The star only won four out of 11 stars alongside Adam Woodyatt and Naughty Boy.

When coming out of the game, Ginola consoled his teammates by saying: "Out of five games you can have a bad one. Don't worry about it."

Naughty Boy picked up on the football analogy and then Woodyatt joked that he knew exactly the match Ginola was referring to.

He jibed: "I've seen one of the worst games he's [David] ever played."

The ex-Magpies star immediately knew what the actor was referring to, replying: "Coventry. Boxing Day, terrible."

Ginola's campmates and Geordie duo Ant & Dec laughed together as the footballer shook his head.

Ginola actually made his Newcastle debut against Coventry, but it wasn't that match the group were talking about.

It was whilst playing for Spurs that Ginola endured that worst performance ever.

The 1998 fixture saw Tottenham Hotspur take an early lead through Sol Campbell in the 17th minute.

However, Coventry would go on to pull back a late equaliser in the 81st minute through John Aloisi.

Ginola was subbed off the pitch for Stephen Clemence exactly at that moment.
