Lewis Capaldi announces UK tour - and he’s coming to Newcastle!

He made the announcement via Instagram.

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has announced a UK and Ireland tour for 2023. In a video posted to Instagram, Capaldi announced the tour as well as a brand-new album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent - which will be released in May 2023.

He will be at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Saturday, January 21 2023. This is the first time Capaldi will be performing in the city as Newcastle wasn’t included on his last tour, which started in 2019. Many Newcastle fans of Capaldi travelled to Glasgow or Manchester in order to see the star.

Lewis Capaldi became a household name after his overnight success with his debut album,  Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent. He went on to win coveted awards such as Best New Artist and Song of the Year at the Brit Awards. Capaldi took a break from social media, before returning to announce a new single, Forget Me in September.

Capaldi also revealed on an Instagram Live that he had been diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome. He shared what it is like to live with it, and was met with a positive response from fans, who supported him and appreciated him talking about the subject. He has since gone on to talk about his Tourette’s diagnosis more publicly, appearing on The Jonathan Ross show and discussing it.

General sale tickets for Lewis Capaldi at the Utilita Arena will go on sale tomorrow (Friday, October 28) at 9am, and you can find them here. Pre-sale tickets have already sold out.
