A Nashville-style hot chicken brand is set to open its second North East venue.

A Nashville-style hot chicken brand that is backed by international artist Drake is set to open at the Metrocentre.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, which already has a branch in Newcastle’s Eldon Square, will open its second North East site on Friday, November 13.

The opening marks another step in the brand’s UK expansion as it looks to continue serving up chicken tenders, sliders, sides, shakes, and more.

Free chicken giveaway

To celebrate the Gateshead launch, Dave’s Hot Chicken will be giving away 200 free sliders to customers on opening day who sign up to the Dave's Hot Chicken app.

The giveaway will be available on a first come, first served basis at the Metrocentre restaurant.

Members of the public can expect a fast-casual dining experience backed by Dave's signature old-school soundtrack and vibrant branding.

Fresh-to-order chicken tenders and sliders are served across the brand’s famous seven-level spice scale, ranging from Not Hot to the infamous Reaper level (waiver required).

‘Perfect next step’

Keyana Mohammadi, Director of Marketing at Dave’s Hot Chicken UK, has stated that the opening of the Metrocentre branch is the “perfect next step” for the growing chicken brand.

She said: “The North East has already shown us just how much it loves Dave’s Hot Chicken, so we’re turning up the heat with another location.

“Since opening in Newcastle, we’ve had an incredible response from local chicken lovers, and bringing Dave’s to Metrocentre feels like the perfect next step.

“As one of the region’s biggest shopping and leisure destinations, it’s an exciting opportunity to introduce even more people to our signature Nashville-style hot chicken.”

Welcome to the Metrocentre

Ben Cox, Metrocentre Asset Director, has welcomed the addition of the shopping centre’s latest dining option.

He commented: “Food and drink are a huge part of what makes people linger for longer at Metrocentre and we are always on the look-out for the next big names to add something new and fresh into the mix.

“Cult favourite Dave’s Hot Chicken dishes up exactly that, bringing its unmistakable, high-energy street food to The Qube, complete with a choice of spice levels that will appeal to everyone from the mildest palates to braver heat-seekers.”

Dave’s Hot Chicken at the Metrocentre will be open from 10am until 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am until 9pm on Sundays.
