Callum Wilson teases Newcastle United injury return

Callum Wilson has given a positive update on his return to action for Newcastle United.
The Magpies' talisman has been sidelined with a calf injury since December 27.

Hide AdSince then Wilson has remained coy about his injury progress and resisted giving a date for his return.
The striker had just told fans that it was slow progress and was going to take a serious period of time to recover.
Speaking to Michail Antonio on The Footballer's Football Podcast last week, Wilson reiterated that message but with an added silver lining for Newcastle United fans.
The forward revealed he was hopeful of returning in time for a 'chunk' of games at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Hide AdWilson said: "It's going slow, slower than I would've liked.
"These things can't be rushed really.
"I'm out here doing a bit of a rehab week.
"I'm positive that I'll be back this season and have a good chunk of games left.
"I've got to make sure that when I'm back I'm back to stay and back to make a difference."
Eddie Howe signed Burnley's Chris Wood in January in an attempt to fill the hole left by Wilson.
The injured striker's presence has still been missed.

Hide AdWilson had netted six goals already this season before his injury, coming in just 15 appearances.
The English national arrived at St James' Park in 2020 from relegated AFC Bournemouth for a fee believed to be around £20 million.
He has since played 41 times for The Magpies, scoring 18 times.
