“I’ve watched every interview Steve Parish has done,” said Liam. “His latest one where he was horking himself out to talkSPORT on Sunday morning. I heard him say the word, and it’s a really important word, in every walk of life... respect.
“He seems to respect Newcastle United. He respects Marc Guehi as a person and a footballer. He respects agents that do things the right way, as he described, so why has he gone about it in this manner? It makes zero sense.
“The words that are coming out of his mouth don’t actually translate to the actions. To throw him [Marc Guehi] to the wolves, which was a Palace decision, ahead of the new season was actually the opposite to respect.

“That doesn’t smack respect for me, it actually goes the opposite way, and the only respectable party in this whole thing is has been the way Newcastle United have conducted themselves. Eddie Howe has not addressed Marc Guehi’s situation publicly, nor would he as he’s not that type of manager or person.
“Paul Mitchell hasn’t been on every radio and TV station going talking about how he’s trying to sign another team’s captain. There has been no public talk from Newcastle sources of bids. It has been a bizarre situation.”
