'A proud moment' - young forward takes to social media after signing Newcastle United deal
Newcastle United forward Alfie Seldon has taken to Instagram to react to his first professional deal with Newcastle United.
Alfie Seldon has vowed to continue his hard work at Newcastle United after signing his first professional deal with the club on his 17th birthday.
The left-winger has been part of Newcastle’s academy for the last 10 years and has impressed at Under-18s and Under-21s level so far this season, scoring six goals in all competitions. Five of those goals have come in the Under-18s Premier League while Seldon also found the net in the National League Cup defeat at Solihull Moors earlier this month, becoming the club’s youngest scorer in the competition.
The teenager has also represented Newcastle in the EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League.

Following confirmation of his contract, Seldon took to Instagram to post an image of himself in a Newcastle shirt signing the deal.
The post was accompanied by the caption: “A proud moment for me and my family to sign my first professional contract with @nufc. A big thanks to everyone who has helped me along my journey. The hard work continues.”
As Seldon looks to continue making an impact at academy level, he is keen to repay the faith shown in him by the club.
"Having a lot of players in the first-team was amazing for the Academy because it shows there is a pathway into the first-team. If you play well, the opportunities are there for you to take,” Seldon told NewcastleUnited.com.
"Everyone wants to make their professional debut for the first-team, whether that's in the Premier League or cup competitions, but one aim of mine this season is getting my first call-up with England. I've never had one but I think if I keep performing the way I am, it will hopefully come.
"Everyone wants to play for their national team and represent their country. It's something I want to strive for."
