Amanda Staveley has reacted to Newcastle United's 3-0 win over Fulham, a victory that ended a run of three straight defeats.

Eddie Howe's side had lost back-to-back Premier League away games at Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, and exited the Champions League at the hands of AC Milan, but they responded emphatically against the Cottagers.

United were given a little helping hand when Raul Jimenez was sent off in the first half for a recklessly high challenge on Sean Longstaff. Then, in the second half, the home side surged to victory.

Lewis Miley scored his first Magpies' goal in the 57th minute and in the process became the club's youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer at 17 years and 230 days.

Miguel Almiron added a second moments later before Dan Burn rounded off the scoring in the closing stages. Newcastle sealed a seventh straight league win at St James' Park and momentarily moved up to sixth in the table.

Watching on from the directors' box was a proud Staveley, and the co-owner took to Instagram to have her say on the result.

Staveley said on Instagram: "What an amazing game! So proud of our beautiful NUFC family today. Everyone played superbly 🖤🤍"

Howe labelled the win as a "big moment" in Newcastle's season, but the big games keep on coming.

United go to London on Tuesday to take on Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. Howe's men reached the final of the competition last season as they look to end their 55-year wait for a trophy.
