Newcastle United are being linked with a summer swoop for Celta Vigo playmaker Gabri Veiga. The 20-year-old has caught the eye in La Liga and is being tipped for a bright future in the game.

According to Faro de Vigo, the Toon Army have ‘closely followed’ his progress over in Spain. However, the report suggests there is a lot of competition for his signature with the likes of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona also keeping close tabs on the attacking midfielder.

Newcastle could see the Spain youth international as someone to bolster their squad over the next few years. There is no doubt that Eddie Howe will be a busy man in the next transfer window as he looks to add more quality options into his ranks ahead of next season.

Veiga started out at local side Santa Marina before linking up with Celta Vigo. He has since risen up through the youth ranks of his current club and was a regular for them at various youth levels before he broke into the first-team in 2020.

He has become a key member of their senior set-up and has made 40 appearances, 26 of which have come in this campaign, and has found the net six times. His contract expires in June 2026.

Newcastle are reportedly interested and Veiga is a name to keep an eye out for. However, there appears to be plenty of other teams in the frame for his signature as well.
