Newcastle United set to hold ‘new talks’ with Sandro Tonali’s teammate considered by Liverpool

Newcastle United are hoping to take advantage of their ‘excellent’ relationship with agent Fali Ramadani in a bid to land Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

The 60-year-old is part of the LIAN Sports Group that represents a number of reported Magpies targets including Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresnada and Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic. Italian news outlet Correire dello Sport have claimed United are looking to use Ramadani to help them ‘build an interesting operation’ that would allow them to reunited Chiesa with Italy team-mate Sandro Tonali after he completed a £55million move to Tyneside earlier this week.

The report also suggests the Magpies will hold ‘more exploratory talks’ with the Serie A giants, Chiesa and his agent to try and progress a deal - but also stated United are not in a hurry to complete a move as they look to complete a third new signing of the summer transfer window.

Chiesa has been linked with a move to St James Park on several occasions over the last month with a number of reports suggesting Juve’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means they will have to sell a number of players to cope with the financial impact of their underperformance.

Chiesa, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, was asked about his future during the recent international break as he earned the latest of his 42 senior caps when he came off the bench in Italy’s 3-2 win in a Nations League third place play-off with the Netherlands.

As quoted by CalcioMercato, he said: “I’m happy with how I finished, it was a really difficult year for me. Now I’m only thinking about the holidays, then from next season I’ll start preparing already from the summer training camp. Reopening with me? We’ll see, I’m at Juventus and I’m thinking about Juventus.”
