Ryan Fraser’s future at Newcastle United is in huge doubt after Eddie Howe confirmed the winger is training with the under-21s.
The Scotland international’s last appearance for United was during a 1-0 win over Everton in October. Since the World Cup break, Fraser has been named in the matchday squad on just three occasions.

A move, however, failed to materialise.

The 29-year-old, however, is expected to leave this summer after falling out-of-favour under Howe.
“Ryan is training with the under-21s,” Newcastle’s head coach confirmed. “I made the decision to concentrate on the players that are committed to Newcastle. For the benefit of the group, I’ve made that call.
Asked if he saw a future for Fraser on Tyneside, Howe said: “I think that’s a difficult one for me to answer because I’d never put a firm decision on that because life and football can change quickly.
“But I’d say at the moment, no he doesn’t.”

However, the former Aberdeen star was one of Howe’s regular picks last season as he guided Newcastle to Premier League safety. In 2022-23 though, Fraser, who has two years left on his contract, has played just eight times.
